Façade System FACID 65

Multifunctional textile façade with wide range of uses and designs

Sustainable construction increasingly includes the entire lifecycle of buildings, which means that the demand for functionality and flexibility in façades is always on the rise too. With the Schüco FACID 65 textile façade, the external appearance of a building can be adapted to changing requirements quickly and efficiently at any time, without limiting its function – an important step on the path to the transformative façade.

Be it as a suspended, rear-ventilated façade, as an additional decorative level or as a combined façade, the highly flexible system opens up a wide selection of design options with suitability for digital printing, many different lighting options and three-dimensional malleability. A wide variety of fabrics is available depending on the application and building type.

Further benefits of the textile façade solution include its technical properties, durability and multifunctional applications.

CN = Contractor (bidder)

Quality assurance
In accordance with the Construction Products Regulations, for each construction product described below that is created from a harmonised standard or corresponds to a European Technical Approval, there must be a Declaration of Performance, which refers to its key features (appendix ZA of the harmonised standard). All of the key features required for the purpose in the member state must be specified in the Declaration of Performance.
Furthermore, in accordance with regional building regulations, building products may also be provided with confirmation of their compliance with the technical regulations, the general building approvals, the general building authority test certificates or project-specific approval.

The following apply to order processing:
VOB/B (General Conditions of Contract for Building Work).
VOB/C (General Technical Conditions of Contract for Building Work).

Other provisions
The tendered service will be regulated by the sample administrative provisions on technical building regulations (MVVTB), in order to comply with the requirements for official approval.
Furthermore, the regulations and requirements of the local building authority must be observed for the design.

Surface finish
All profiles and substructures used must be powder coated or anodised. The basic profiles and substructures must be powder coated with a matt finish in the same colour as the outside wall or the watertight membrane.
The powder coating to be used is a single-layer powder coating which does not provide corrosion protection. If the specifier or contracted company wishes to use a coating as corrosion protection, this must be agreed with Schüco International KG, as it may not be possible to guarantee the function of the cover profiles with higher coating thicknesses.
Aluminium components powder-coated in accordance with GSB guideline AL 631 or Qualicoat, or anodised in accordance with DIN EN ISO 7599 as per the current colour chart of the contractor.
Steel components hot-dip galvanised in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461.

Fixing and connecting units
Connecting components must be made from V2A stainless steel.
Connecting components within the systems made from V4A stainless steel, aluminium or PVC-U.

Aluminium quality
Extruded aluminium profiles must be of the quality EN AW 6063-T66 and must have proof of this in the form of a 3.1 certificate.

Statics
The substructure certification including the attachment to the existing building, the profiles and the fabric forces must be made in accordance with DIN EN 1090, DIN EN 1993-1 and DIN EN 1999-1.
All basic profiles are certified in accordance with Eurocode 9.
